Celtic are reported to have joined the chase for unsettled Newcastle striker Craig Bellamy.

Bellamy’s future at St James Park appears to be over after was told he would not play for Newcastle again after he fell out out with Graeme Souness.

Souness said at the time: “He can’t play for me ever again. He has been a disruptive influence from the minute I walked into this football club.

“He can’t go on television and accuse me of telling lies.”

Birmingham matched Newcastle’s asking price of £6m for the Welsh forward but Bellamy turned down the chance of a move to St Andrews.

The decision to snub Birmingham has alerted Celtic who are looking for a striker following the decision to end Henri Camara’s loan spell from Wolves.
