Scottish Premier League leaders Celtic are reportedly in the hunt for Turkish midfielder Okan Buruk.

The 30-year-old has become surplus to requirements at Italian giants Inter and looks certain to leave the San Siro at the end of the season.

However Celtic boss Martin O’Neill would be keen to bring him in before the end of the January transfer window to try and strengthen his squad for the title run in.

Okan, who boasts tremendous experience having played in the World Cup and European Champions League, would apparently be granted a free transfer by Inter after spending much of the season on the sidelines.

Perugia are also interested in the Turk and could prove to be Celtic’s only obstacle between them and his signature.
