The draw for the play-off qualifying rounds of the Champions League has been made at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Several clubs will have to overcome teams from neighbouring countries after the draw for the UEFA Champions League play-off round was conducted in Nyon.

Spanish outfit Sevilla face an Iberian derby against Braga, while Norwegian titleholders Rosenborg take on Danish counterparts FC Copenhagen, and Czech side Sparta Prague meet Slovakia’s MSK Zilina.

Tottenham Hotspur, appearing in the Champions League play-off for the first time, will be relieved to have been paired against Swiss lightweights Young Boys. The last time Spurs played at this level in Europe was when they reached the semi-finals of the 1961-62 European Cup.

Friday’s draw also saw former European champions Ajax, coached by Spurs’ former boss Martin Jol, pitted against perennial Ukrainian qualifiers, Dynamo Kiev.

In other ties Werder Bremen will face Sampdoria, and French outfit Auxerre were drawn with Zenit St-Petersburg.

The ten play-off winners will go into the group stage draw along with the 22 teams automatically qualified to be held in Monaco on August 26.
