Rangers – who return to Europe’s premier competition after a season long absence – have a clean bill of health ahead of tonight’s clash with 2004 champions FC Porto.

New signing Francis Jeffers could well make his first start for the Scottish Champions, after impressing on his debut against Falkirk on the weekend.

Though the visitors have only one injured player – former Tottenham striker Helder Postiga – they travel to Glasgow without striker Benni McCarthy.

Coach Co Adriannase has left the South African international at home after he contravened club rules by arriving to training last week sporting some “unusual” new hair extensions.

“Whoever does not obey leaves”, said the former AZ Alkmaar coach. “Be it the best player the best paid player … my team, is getting better and better, but a prefer a team to a collection of stars.”
