Liverpool have shortened to BestPrice 13-2 to win their first Premiership title after their victory over Man Utd at Anfield on Saturday.

The Football Association has confirmed that Chelsea have submitted a claim for wrongful dismissal on behalf of John Terry.

The Blues skipper was dismissed for ‘serious foul play’ by referee Mark Halsey after he hauled down City’s Brazilian striker Jo during Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Manchester City.

Halsey deemed Terry to be the last man between Jo and the goal, a decision which annoyed Chelsea as Ricardo Carvalho appeared to be covering behind the England skipper.

An FA regulatory commission will consider the claim on 16th September.

Straight red cards cannot be downgraded to a yellow, so Chelsea will have to successfully argue that Terry did not deserve a yellow in order to succeed in the appeal.
