Inter coach Hector Cuper has hinted that Real Madrid midfielder Santiago Solari could soon be on his way to the San Siro.

Inter were given the option of signing Solari or Steve McManaman when they negotiated the deal that saw Ronaldo move to Real Madrid in the summer. Cuper expressed a preference for compatriot Solari and with the transfer window now open, a deal looks likely.

“The club are assessing that option but let us not forget that he is an important player in his position,” admitted Cuper.

“Currently we have no one in our squad with his characteristics. He would certainly give us another option.”
