Fenerbahce coach Christoph Daum has criticised the confduct of Newcastle United manager Graeme Souness

Daum is annoyed that Souness announced his desie to sign Fenerbahce striker Nicolas Anelka.

“I know Souness well and I don’t find it right that he’s expressing his wishes so openly,” complained Daum.

“I’ve never come out and said ‘I want that player’.

“It’s not my style.

“I think this should be done in a different way.”

The German coach faces a battle to retain Servet Cetin and Anelka, who he sees as key components of his team along with recent signing Stephen Appiah.

“We didn’t buy Anelka to sell him after half a season,” asserted Daum.

“Anelka and Servet will return from injury and be added to our team, along with Appiah.

“We could even get stronger by signing another player.”
