Edgar Davids’ move from Juventus to Barcelona has moved a step closer after Barca legend Johann Cruyff gave his blessing to a possible transfer.
“He (Davids) has a mentality and character that can fit into Barcelona very well because what he can contribute is what the team is lacking,” declared Cruyff.
“If he can be signed…I would sign him.”
The Dutch player will be out of contract at the end of the season and Barcelona, managed by Frank Rijkaard, a former teammate of Davids at Ajax, is known to be an admirer of the tenacious midfielder.
