Former Barcelona defender Frank De Boer is facing the axe at Galatasaray after struggling to settle in Turkey.

The former Dutch international has made a catalogue of errors that have cost the club dearly, since arriving from Barcelona in the summer.

Gala are currently sitting 12 points behind rivals Besiktas.

De Boer arrived in the summer on a free transfer from Barcelona and still has 18 months left on his contract. He is unlikley to be the only casualty as Galatasaray look to restructure their side amid crippling debts and reports of internal disputes within the squad.

Arif Erdem, Hakan Unsal, Elvir Baljic and Ali Lukunku are all expected to be shown the door at the earliest opportunity.
