Sebastian Deisler finally made his Bayern Munich debut last night, helping the Bundesliga leaders to remarkable 8-0 victory against Koln.

The German international winger was signed last summer from Hertha Berlin, but aserious knee injury towards the end of last season has prevented him from making his debut for Bayern.

Deisler, who missed the World Cup finals because of the injury was understandably relieved to be finallly playing again.

“When you’re injured for such a long period of time, it is hard to describe how it is to be back on the pitch,” said Deisler. after coming on as a substitute during Bayern’s 8-0 German Cup victory over Koln.

“The match was not tense, but I am happy to have been in the team for the first time. I am looking forward to the next few weeks and I am very content.”
