Real Madrid coach Vicente Del Bosque says he wants to face Manchester United in the next round of the Champions League.

With Alex Ferguson revealing that Real would be his preferred opponents, Del Bosque has admitted he would prefer to meet United rather than another Spanish club.

“I don’t really mind who we get in the quarter-finals, although I would prefer it not to be a Spanish side.” said Del Bosque.

“Barcelona for example, have all their hopes on this competition because it’s all they have left, while Manchester can’t fail either because the final is being played at Old Trafford.”

With Real set to meet Barcelona, Valencia or Manchester United, a quarter-final meeting between United and Real would be preferred by both camps
