Deportivo La Coruna’s Juan Carlos Valeron, who returned to action at the weekend, after a lengthy injury lay-off, believes the side did not miss him.

The Spanish international returned against Mallorca, showing no adverse reaction to his spell on the sidelines.

“We’ve looked good,” he told El Mundo Deportivo.

“There have been some good moments and some bad, but we are still there, fighting for the Champions League, La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

“I don’t think they have missed me,’ added the Spanish playmaker, with characteristic modesty.

‘Everyone responded. If they had any problems, it wasn’t because I was missing – Deportivo don’t depend on me.”
