UEFA have upheld the one-match touchline ban imposed on France coach Raymond Domenec following comments he in a French newspaper, would stand.

Domenech’s appeal was partially upheld, however, with the appeals body lifting the 10,000 Swiss Franc fine originally imposed on the trainer by UEFA’s control and disciplinary board.

Domenech will watch Saturday’s Euro 2008 qualifier against world champions Italy from the stands as a result of the verdict.

The 55-year-old was punished for bringing the game into disrepute by accusing Italy of bribing the referee of an under-21 Olympic qualifying match between the two countries.
