Arsenal full back Gael Clichy comes in for Eric Abidal, who is suspended for the first World Cup qualifier against Austria on September 6.

There was no place for experienced keeper Gregory Coupet or midfielder Samir Nasri while Patrick Vieira, Franck Ribery and Willy Sagnol are injured.
