Arsenal have confirmed that Croat striker, Eduardo da Silva, has undergone surgery to help cure him of his problematic ankle injury.

A statement, issued on the club’s official website, confirmed, “Eduardo underwent simple revision surgery on his left ankle earlier today.

“The operation went well and [he] will follow a dedicated rehabilitation programme throughout June.

“He is expected to return to full training in pre-season with the rest of the squad,” the statement concluded.

The Brazil-born forward recently returned to action following the horrific leg break he suffered at St. Andrews last season after a tackle from Martin Taylor.
