Blackburn have signed Aston Villa goalkeeper Peter Enckelman for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old Finn has been displaced as Villa number since the arrival of Thomas Sorensen from Sunderland in the close-season. He Enckelman has been on loan at Ewood Park after arriving as back up to Brad Friedel in November.
Blackburn manager Graeme Souness said: “We have struck a deal with Aston Villa and the player is having a medical.”
The Finland international joined Villa from his local side TPS Turku in February 1999.
