Sam Allardyce became the eighth Premier League manager to go this season after he left Newcastle “by mutual agreement”. But who will take over?

Valencia have agreed to loan midfielder Manuel Fernandes to Everton until the end of the season.

The deal includes an option for the Premier League club to buy the Portugal international.
Valencia snatched the 21-year-old from under the noses of Everton last summer after the former Benfica player had agreed in principle to join the Premier League outfit.

However, despite signing a six-year contract in August, he has only made five league starts and has fallen foul of coach Ronald Koeman’s recent shake up at the club.

The loan deal follows an incident in the early hours of Jan 4, when the player was taken in for questioning by police following a fracas at a nightclub in the city.
