Everton have completed the loan signing of Benfica midfielder Manuel Fernandes, according to the Portuguese club.
A statement on Benfica’s website said the 20-year-old has extended his contract with the Portuguese club until 2011 – but will play for Everton until May.
Fernandes passed a medical at Everton’s Bellefield training ground last week.
He spent the first half of the season on loan at Portsmouth, but Pompey were priced out of a permanent deal.
