Everton have confirmed they are interested in signing Valencia duo Mohammed Sissoko and Emiliano Moretti.

Mali midfielder Sissoko and Italian left-back Moretti were both signed by current Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez in 2003 when he was in charge of the Spanish club.

Everton manager Moyes is hoping to lure the duo to Merseyside for a combined fee of £5m.

“I can confirm we are trying to bring them both to Everton. I don’t want to say much more than that, but I am hoping to conclude both deals quickly,” Moyes said Monday.

Arturo Canales, the agent of Sissoko, told the Liverpool Daily Post: “Benitez has been following him through the season.”

But now it looks like Moyes will secure his signature.

Moretti is a left-back, is 25 and joined Valencia from Parma in 2003.
