Borussia Dortmund received another blow to their hopes of Bundesliga survival with the news that striker Ewerthon will be out for two months with a shin injury.
The Brazilian suffered the injury in a 2-2 draw with Spartak Moscow in a friendly on Wednesday and x-rays revealed a hairline fracture of the fibula.
“We’re now waiting for a more exact investigation in Germany,” club doctor Markus Braun told the club’s official website.
At the halfway stage of the season, Dortmund lie 14th in the 18-team Bundesliga, just four points above the relegation zone.
