England are now seven wins from seven in Group Six, so a win over Croatia in September will see Capello’s men heading to the World Cup 2010 in South Africa

Manchester United owners the Glazer family have given the green light for Sir Alex Ferguson to embark upon a summer spending spree.

The Red Devils have a void to fill in their side with superstar Cristiano Ronaldo set to join Real Madrid in a world record £80million deal.

United, who on Thursday confirmed that they had accepted an £80million bid from Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo, have been linked with a host of players this summer, including the likes of Antonio Valencia, Karim Benzema and Franck Ribery.

The club are sure to bring in at least one forward in the close season with Carlos Tevez’s future unclear following the end of his loan spell at Old Trafford.

“The decision reflects Cristiano’s desire to move on and the manager has accepted that,” confirmed a Glazer spokesman.

“The Glazer family as owners, have always supported the manager since their takeover and that is again the situation.”
