Recently crowned European Foootballer of the Year, Ronaldinho, has been nominated for Fifa’s World Player of the Year award.

Barcelona teammate Samuel Eto’o and Chelsea midfieler Frank Lamaprd are the other two players on Fifa’s three-man shortlist.

Ronaldinho was the 2004 winner of the Fifa World Player of the Year award.

On Monday the 25-year-old Brazilian, who this year also won the inaugural FIFpro award, was named the 2005 European Footballer of the Year.

Lampard, the footballer of the year in England last season, came runner-up to Ronaldinho for the European award.
