A minute of silence will be held before international matches on Tuesday and Wednesday as a mark of respect to the 19 fans who died in a stadium stampede in the Ivory Coast at the weekend.
FIFA is investigating the stampede at Abidjan’s Felix Houphouet-Boigny arena on Sunday before the World Cup qualifier with Malawi.
“The minute’s silence is a mark of respect for the African football family and in memory of the persons who lost their lives outside of the stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast,” FIFA said in a statement.
