Luís Figo, has ended his international retirement and has been named in the Portugal squad for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia and Estonia.

The Real Madrid winger retired from international competition following Portugal’s defeat by Greece in the final of EURO 2004, having scored 31 goals in 110 appearances for his country.

“I’m not yet ready to say, ‘This is for ever’,” he said at the time, thus leaving the door open for a return.

Portugal face Slovakia at the Estádio da Luz on 4 June and then travel to Estonia four days later.
