Fiorentina are resigned to their bid for Liverpool striker Milan Baros being snubbed, according to the Czech’s agent.

Baros has emerged as the Italian club’s prime January transfer target after Javier Portillo returned to Real Madrid.

Fiorentina want to sign the Czech striker on loan for the remainder of the season but with Liverpool having signed Fernando Morientes following Djibril Cisse’s long-term injury, they are unlikely to release Baros.

“Baros has a long contract with Liverpool and the team’s situation is quite difficult considering, for example, Cisse’s injury,” Pavel told fiorentina.it.

“Although I say that anything is possible, the negotiation seems to me really difficult.

“Anyway, we are happy with Fiorentina’s interest.”
