Diego Forlan could be set for a summer move to the Premier League, according to the Atletico Madrid striker’s agent.

The Uruguay international is reported to be a target for big-spending Manchester City, who have been aware of Forlan’s form in La Liga this term, where he has already scored 19 goals to his name.

The former Independiente and Villarreal forward endured a difficult spell at Manchester United, but rediscovered his touch after moving to Spain and could now be tempted to have a second stint in the Premier League.

Forlan’s agent Daniel Bolotnikoff told skysports.com: “I have received calls from big European clubs requesting information about the situation, but I am not authorised to give their names.

“My answer is always the same. Atletico Madrid will decide on this subject.

“Diego is enjoying a great season in front of goal and is happy in Madrid, but at the end of the season we will be in a better position to evaluate the situation.

“Forlan could have a big role in England.”
