Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has recalled Nuno Gomes to his squad for the friendly international against Italy next Wednesday.
Due to injury the 27-year-old forward has been missing from the international fold since the friendly against Kuwait in November. However,. two goals for Benfica in last night’s 4-3 UEFA Cup defeat to Internazxionale, showed Gomes is back to his best.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Helder Postiga has also earned a recall after an absence of five months while Hugo Almeida and Hugo Viana have been dropped from the squad.
