Thomas Gravesen believes that Celtic’s win over Aberdeen on Saturday will provide a huge confidence boost for the team ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League encounter at Manchester United.

The Dane told the Scottish Daily Express: “The victory can give us enough belief to deliver a good result.

“I’m really looking forward to the game. They are the kind of games you love to play as a footballer.

“The manager has said he wants me to get into the position to score goals.”

Gravesen, signed from Real Madrid for £2m on transfer deadline day, is looking forward to the encounter with United.

“We can now go to England with confidence and we will do our best down there,” he said.

“The Aberdeen game was very important, as the performance showed to me what a strong team we are and how committed we are to winning.”

“You will see what we can do when we get on the park,” he added.

“What people think about the Scottish league we will prove them wrong for sure.”
