Real Madrid midfielder Guti, who has been the subject of transfer speculation in recent weeks, has confirmed that he is committed to the club.

The 28-year-old was unhappy last season at spending so much time on the bench, but despite his diminished role at the Bernabeu, he seems determined to fight for his place.

“It is not true that I am going. I am staying at Real Madrid and I am very happy here,” Guti told a news conference in Thailand.

English clubs Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are both reported to be interested in signing him.
