Real Madrid midfielder Guti believes he may have to leave the club if he is to play ootball on a regular basis.

“I think the club and I should think very hard about what is best for both parties. Perhaps it would be best for everyone if I left,” the Spanish international told AS.

The 28-year-old made only 18 starts for Real but since the arrival of coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo during the winter break and Denmark midfielder Thomas Gravesen in the January transfer window he has been used mainly as a substitute.

“I am not angry, just frustrated because I thought I would be able to play more this year,” Guti added.

“I could have done a lot of good things for the side, but I haven’t been able to.

“I want to develop as a player and I feel I am stuck on the second level here. I am able to play many more minutes than I am doing and to have a more important role in a side.”

Guti is contracted to Real until 2008.
