Guti is set to stay at Real Madrid despite having indicated he wanted to play abroad.

Guti has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu and, in an interview earlier this month, he admitted he was keen to play in a foreign country with Inter his preferred destination.

Premier League clubs were also linked but Guti’s agent, Zoran Vekic, has now said the midfielder would like to stay at Madrid.

“It is very difficult for Guti to leave Madrid,” he told Soccernet. “He is 33 years old and he earns nearly five million euros a year.

“Only the biggest clubs can afford to pay that kind of money and I have not received any offers as yet. What’s more, he’s now playing again and is very happy in Madrid.”
