Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has completed his move to Manchester City in one of the most bizarre transfers in recent times.

Hamann, 32, signed a pre-contract agreement with Bolton last month but then changed his mind, telling the club he wanted to join City instead.

The German made 283 appearances for Liverpool scoring 11 goals.

Liverpool officially announcing on Tuesday that Hamann had joined Bolton before it was revealed later that day that the player would join Manchester City instead
