Owen Hargreaves believes Bayern Munich can knock Real Madrid out of the Champions League.

The German champions led Madrid 1-0 until an Oliver Kahn blunder enabled Real to snatch a 1-1 draw. The draw means that the Spanish sideare favourites to make it through to the last eight.

Real are expected to turn on the magic in Wednesday’s second leg at Santiago Bernabeu and continue their relentless march towards another European crown.

But Hargreaves is optimistic that Bayern can upset the odds.

“We showed in the first leg we can definitely beat Real Madrid,” he said.

“We had them in a wonderful position and could have scored a second goal at least.

“We definitely have the firepower to score a couple of goals in Spain.

“Obviously they are a fantastic team going forward but if we can hit them on the break and get a goal or two, it will be smooth sailing.”
