Gabriel Heinze is set to be out for two months after he sustained a leg injury in Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Real Zaragoza.
The Argentinian lasted only 17 minutes of the Primera Liga encounter before having to be replaced by Miguel Torres.
It will be Heinze’s third spell on the sidelines since his summer move from Manchester United.
“I am unhappy because this is a period when the team will be playing many matches,” he said.
Real will now be without Heinze for a number of league games, the next round of the Copa del Rey and the Champions League encounter with Roma.
