Ivan Helguera, who has lost his place at Real Madrid, believes the only way he will win it back is when the club appoint a new coach.

“They are doing things to me here that I can’t even begin to tell you,” Helguera told television station Cuatro.

“These are the worst moments I have experienced at the club in my seven years here.

“I have a cordial relationship with coach Juan Ramon Lopez Caro but it couldn’t be described as good.

“The best that could happen is that a new coach comes.”

The 31-year-old centre-back had been a regular in the side for the last decade, and he signed a contract extension with the club until 2009 in December.

But after Lopez Caro replaced the sacked Wanderlei Luxemburgo as Real coach, he has slowly dropped down the pecking order.
