Thierry Henry is set to make a surprise return from injury for Arsenal’s Champions League trip to Sparta Prague on Tuesday.

The French striker has not played for Arsenal since 24 August but returns ahead of schedule as Arsene Wenger contends with a number of injury concerns.

Robin van Persie and Gilberto Silva are also back after injury, although Freddie Ljungberg, Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole and Alexander Hleb are all injured.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger criticised his player for their lack of maturity after the Premiership defeat to West Brom and is keen to see some of his senior players back in action.

Henry’s last outing was for France in their World Cup qualifier against Ireland last month.
