Giovanni van Bronckhorst has said he would love to play alongside Thierry Henry at Barcelona.

The Dutchman was a teammate of at Arsenal, and believes that he would make Barcelona ‘unbeatable’ if he moved to Camp Nou.

The striker, who has yet to open talks on a new deal at Highbury, has been linked with a move to Barca, and van Bronckhorst has fuelled further speculation by revealing that Henry has an interest in Spanish football.

“If we had Thierry Henry at Barcelona we would have a team which would be invincible,” he said.

“Of course, we would be much better than Chelsea.

“Henry, Eto’o and Ronaldinho are able to play in the same team and they would guarantee success.

“I know Thierry very well and he is a player that has always wanted to play in Spain and in a great team like Barca. I do not think he would need much convincing to join us.

“Arsenal is a great club but today Barca is a superior team.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has scotched rumours of a transfer to Barcelona, despite reports that he was house-hunting in the city.

“I am happy at Chelsea, and have no reason to leave at the moment,” he insisted.

Last week, a member of the Barcelona board admitted that Lampard was one player the club were interested in signing.
