Liverpool have been drawn to face Welsh side Total Network Solutions in the first qualifying round of the Champions League.

Today’s draw comes just weeks after Liverpool were crowned champions of Europe by beating Milan 3-2 on penalties after a 3-3 draw in Istanbul.

The English side were given special dispensation to enter the competition at this stage, despite finishing fifth in the English Premiership last season.

The winner of the tie will play Faroe Island team HB or Lithuanian outfit Kaunas in the second qualifying round.

Another intriguing tie at that stage is Dynamo Kyiv face Swiss side FC Thun, while there is also the prospect of Glentoran of Northern Ireland meeting their counterparts Shelbourne from the Republic in the previous round.
