The Dutch and Belgian football associations are considering making a joint bid to host the 2018 World Cup.

Representatives from both associations agreed this week to finish a feasibility study by the end of the year.

“This only can work if we all work together,” Dutch association (KNVB) director Kessler told Dutch press agency ANP.

“The finals in 2000 were a big success, so why not this time?”

Belgium and the Netherlands jointly staged the 2000 European Championship.

“In 2000 we played in eight stadiums over two countries and that is our goal again,” Kessler said.
