Hull City manager Phil Brown is hoping to open talks with Alvaro Negredo on Wednesday.

The Tigers boss has revealed that the Real Madrid striker is set to be attend the KC Stadium in midweek to watch Hull’s Premier League encounter with Tottenham.

While in England, the 23-year-old is set to discuss a proposed £12million switch to the Hull.

Italian outfit Roma have been linked with a move for Negredo, while Spanish side Real Zaragoza are also keen.

Brown admits he remains cautious as to his prospects of completing a deal, but will be hoping to persuade Negredo to make the move to Humberside.

“We’re hoping that he’ll be at the game tomorrow night,” Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.

“I can’t make a comment on speculation from Spain, we haven’t heard anything.

“There will always be a concern until the deal is done but we’re hopeful.”
