Japan midfielder Junichi Inamoto has agreed a one year loan extension that will keep him at Fulham for the 2003-04 season.

Inamoto’s season began well with some impressive displays in the Intertoto Cup, but faded as the season progressed. In total, the Japanese World Cup perforrmer started nine Premiership games and came on as a substiturte on ten occasions.

Given the limited impact at the club, it comes as a surprise that he has been offered an another 12 month deal with Fulham.

Inamoto said: ‘I’m happy to stay in England in the Premiership, playing for Fulham Football Club.

‘I’ve enjoyed my first season at the club and I look forward to being part of the campaign next season.’

Fulham chief executive Bruce Langham stated: ‘Ina has been a great asset to the squad this season and we’re delighted he’s agreed to stay for a further year.

‘He’s a dedicated and committed individual and we look forward to seeing many fine performances from him next season.’
