Milan midfield player Clarence Seedorf has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering knee ligamentinjury during last night’s Champions League quarter-final tie against his former club Ajax.

The Dutch international limped off after 26 minutes following a challenge by defender Hatem Trabelsi.

Seedorf was bidding for a unique record of becomingÿthe first player to win the Champions League with three different clubs, having beenÿsuccessful with Ajax in 1995 and Real Madrid in 1998.
