Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has confirmed his club are currently in negotiating the sale of Roma defender Cristian Chivu.

“It is two weeks until the press say it will be Chivu’s day, but today I won’t meet with Rossella Sensi [Roma president],” said Moratti.

“Negotiations are open but there are many clubs interested in the player and whoever makes the best offer will sign him.

“However, should he not arrive, we will remain with these players.”

Barcelona still remain favourites to sign Chivu, after sources close to the player reported he was in favour of a move to Spain.
