Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi has returned to full training on Tuesday and set his sights on being involved in next week’s Champions League tie with Manchester United.

Inzaghi has missed much of the season with an ankle injury and he then fractured a hand on his return in January.

“I hope I’ll be available for the Manchester game but I need to be realistic. I haven’t played for a long time and I only started running again today,” said the Italy international.

“But if I am able to offer a hand then I am ready. I’ve done it before and I can do it again. I’d be willing to go on the bench but let’s see nearer the time,” he added.

Milan are currently without their Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko, who is recovering from a fractured cheekbone and is unliukely to be fit for the return game with United.

Milan hold a narrow 1-0 lead from the first leg at Old Trafford.
