Espanyol defender Dani Jarque has played down speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham.
The highly-rated centre-back was reported to be a target of Spurs manager Juande Ramos as he looks to continue his overhaul of th Spurs defence.
Ramos has already brought Jonathan Woodgate and Alan Hutton to White Hart Lane in January, and was reported to be considering a £9million move for Jarque.
“I have not spoken with Juande Ramos but it is nothing new that I am linked to a big club in England,” said Jarque.
“But my dream at the moment is to help Espanyol quality for the Champions League.”
The club’s sporting director Paco Herrera said: “We saw the news and rumours in the press, but they are only this.”
