Italian side Juventus are the latest club to express an interest in signing former Manchester United skipper Roy Keane, according to newspaper reports.

The 34-year-old made a shock departure from Old Trafford last week and a host of British clubs have already been linked with the former Republic of Ireland star.

Juventus are the latest club to have joined the list of interested parties.

Juve lead Serie A by five points and are top of their Champions league group although Keane would be ineligible to represent them in Europe this season.

The Italian champions already have Patrick Vieira in their midfield already, as well as the Brazilian Emerson.

Of the many Premiership clubs that have contacted Keane, Middlesbrough are understood to have been the first to declare a strong interest.

Boro, managed by Steve McClaren who worked with Keane at Old Trafford, might be in a position to offer a player-coach role and that would appeal to Keane.

However, Keane said recently that he would be reluctant to play for another English club against United meaning Celtic, where he said he would like to finish his career, and possibly Juventus, look the most likely destinations.
