Oliver Kahn says he will not let the cricticism regarding his private life affect his plans to play for Germany until after the 2006 World Cup finals.

Kahn has been criticised in Germany since he revelaed he had been unfaithful to his pregnant wife with a barmaid.

‘I have no plans to retire,’ the goalkeeper told reporters ahead of Germany’s Euro 2004 qualifier against Lithuania on Saturday.

‘I want to keep playing for the national team until the 2006 World Cup.’

The Germany and Bayern skipper added that his private problems would not affect his performances.

‘I have developed mechanisms which enable me to keep performing at the top level,’ he said.
