Auxerre striker Olivier Kapo claims he has agreed a pre-contract deal to join Juventus in the summer.

The France international always looked tipped to leave Auxerre in the summer, as he had refused to negotiate a fresh contract with the club. Several clubs expressed an interest in signing Kapo, but once Juve’s interest became known, the striker’s mind was made up.

“The first contact came about a month ago,” Kapo told L’Equipe.

“I was in Turin the day before the Juventus-Deportivo La Coruna match.

“At first I didn’t want to talk about that but it was settled quickly.

“La Coruna made an offer in the afternoon but the Italian officials had already signed me in the morning.

“You can’t refuse Juventus.

“I can only improve with great players, like (Alessandro) Del Piero, and I always stated it was the sporting aspect which would influence me the most.”
