Manchester United captain Roy Keane will be out of action for up to two months after breaking abone in his left foot.

Keane suffered the injury to his third metatarsal in United’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

The 34-year-old had only just returned to the United starting line-up after missing the Champions League game at Villarreal with a hamstring injury.

Keane will also miss Ireland’s World Cup qualifier at home to Switzerland.
