Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman has arrived in Spain to hold talks over a possible move to Atletico Madrid.

Atletico said on its website: “Atletico and Chelsea … have been negotiating over all the details of the transfer, which may be concluded in a few hours.”

The 26-year-old Kezman, who joined Chelsea for £5m last year, is looking for a move after failing to establish himself at Stamford Bridge.

Contrary to some reports, Atletico deny Spain international striker Fernando Torres would be part of any transfer involving Kezman.

“Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich can forget about Torres,” said Atletico president Enrique Cerezo.

Kezman would become Atletico’s first new player since the season ended and the first signing for new coach Carlos Bianchi.
